About
The American Studies Web is the largest directory of web-based resources in the field of American Studies. The current version features a tagging system, as well as rating and commenting. Beyond its function as a search engine, it creates a virtual space for scholarly dialogue and collaboration. Users can now register and participate.
Brief History
The American Studies Web was created by David Phillips in 1994. In 2000, Michael Coventry and Jamie Poster revised and expanded the content and Edward Maloney converted it to a new search interface. Dave Lester programmed the most-recent redevelopment of American Studies Web, with the help of Matthias Oppermann in revising the content.
